To reduce the instrument size, Yamaha designed a new Graded Hammer Compact keyboard that not only reduced the size but also offered improved response over its predecessors and is the best weighted 'acoustic piano-like playing feel in its class'.

Yamaha is well known for the quality of both it's acoustic and digital pianos and with the P-145 portable, you can enjoy the sounds of the CFIIIS, the origin of Yamaha’s premier concert acoustic grand pianos, in a digital piano setting.
The P-145BT also incorporates a new speaker system that has been adjusted to replicate the sounds reflected from the soundboard and lid of an acoustic grand piano as closely as possible.
