Music School

We have been running a Music School at Brittens for nearly 15 years now. With hundreds of students, we have a flourishing school based at our Tunbridge Wells store, catering for all ages, abilities and motivations. We welcome beginners (of any age) and start at 6 weeks old in our Colourstrings classes.

Currently, we have teachers who offer music lessons for:

Violin | Cello | Viola
Piano | Keyboard
Classical and Electric Guitar | Ukulele
Trombone | Trumpet
Saxophone | Clarinet | Flute | Recorder
Voice
Music Theory

Our lessons run for 30 minutes, or up to an hour for advanced grades. As well as the structured syllabus of ABRSM, LCM and Trinity, we offer bespoke lessons for:

Beginners (Colourstrings for the very young, 1-1 lessons for children)
Performers (Choral work, operatics, GCSE/School Performances, Bands),
Returners (to an instrument after a long absence),
Explorers (who wish to give something new a try).

The musical journey is not just about the satisfaction of improving, (the exam system gives a structure for this) but about having fun. Our goal is to support you in your learning journey, whether that be an introduction to an instrument, learning a discipline (like jazz), help learning to read music, or the more structured approach of a syllabus.
