Description
The TJ10x has long been regarded as the leader in the field for new flute players and returners alike. In the last couple of years, the instrument has incorporated a .925 silver lip plate and riser as standard - a feature you would normally find only on step-up flutes. Combined with the shaped lip-plate, this allows the player to achieve a great sound on a beautifully free-blowing instrument.
Trevor James flutes are manufactured in Taiwan in the company's own factory (they do not make flutes for anyone else), with parts sourced from around the world. The Japanese tubing (the main body) is well known for its structural integrity and resonant quality. Springs are from France, and the high quality yellow pads are from the Italian Pisoni factory. The triple-coat finish (copper, and then two layers of silver plate) is highly durable and won't deteriorate as sometimes happens on lower-cost flutes. All instruments are set up and checked in the UK workshop in Kent by specialist technicians.
The TJ10x flute is available in two options:
- Straight headjoint model – a standard concert flute model
- Curved and straight headjoint model - This Model– a 10x flute with both curved and straight headjoints. - The perfect investment for the smaller player as they will start on the curved head and simply swap to the straight headjoint when they are ready.
