A Grand Piano 'Experience' from the CLP-775 Digital Piano

Thanks to cutting edge technology and over 130 years of experience in piano craftmanship, Yamaha have developed the CLP Series of digital pianos that can beautifully recreate the essence of an acoustic grand piano in their feel, touch and tone.

Whether a beginner or a seasoned pianist, the CLP-775 offers the many functional benefits available from owning a digital instrument allied with the faithful simulation of the sounds and resonance of two world-class concert grand pianos.

Keyboard & Pedals

The keyboard can create an almost 'emotional' interface between a Player and the Piano, the need for it to be able to react to the minutest changes in style or expression by the player is essential, if it is to re-create the sensation of playing an acoustic grand piano.

The CLP-775 features the GRANDTOUCH™ keyboard with highly absorbent, slip resistant synthetic ebony and synthetic ivory keytops that is comfortable and easy to play (wood is used for the white keys). Having a broad dynamic range from pianissimo through to fortissimo it also offers precise control and faithful response of a players actions.

To create a sensation as close as possible to playing a grand piano, the CLP range has an impressive set of features. For the GRANDTOUCH™ keyboard, the weight and return of the keys are calibrated to replicate the feel of playing that same key on a grand piano. There is a repetition mechanism that has 3 proprietary sensors, designed to detect the slightest nuances of key movement, along with escapement.

To complete the sensation, the pedals are realistic-feeling too and alter the tone as expected.

Experience the Music

The CLP-700 Series includes Yamaha's 'Grand Expression Modelling', a cutting-edge feature that simulates the complex interaction and interplay between the strings, hammers and dampers of a grand piano, allowing an almost infinite range of tonal expression to be created through the pianists touch and playing style. With such control, the ability to faithfully reproduce works with the desired expression and output can become a reality. It is artistry through sound.

Imagine playing a full size grand piano... one of the most desirable elements as you perform is sound created by the overall sympathetic resonance that occurs naturally across the entire instrument. Virtual Resonance Modelling is a ground-breaking capability designed to reproduce this effect when playing a CLP 700 Digital Piano, reproducing the complex interactions of the sympathetic tones across the the rest of the strings, the soundboard and the body.

Yamaha have used all-new samples for the voices of the two concert grand pianos available in the CLP 700 series, the Yamaha CFX and the Bösendorfer Imperial. The rich depth, resonance and clarity of these beautiful instruments are faithfully delivered and with 'Binaural Sampling' the feeling of 'being there' and playing in person is even further enhanced.

If you would like to hear the style of sounds that Mozart, Chopin and Beethoven would have heard, as they composed their masterpieces, there are even period instrument voices in the form of the 'fortepiano', the predecessor of the modern piano. With simpler sound and more rapid decay, it offers an opportunity to engage with their music in a novel and different way.

A wonderful instrument when choosing to play as a grand piano, the CLP 700 Series offers even more with an impressive selection of voices, effects and recording capabilities. And, for the times when you just want to sit back and appreciate the features and sounds of the CLP-775 then there are lots demo songs, voices and lesson-songs to listen and engage with.

Popular additional features of the CLP 775 are the ability to use music apps on your Bluetooth® device to play songs through the enhanced amplifiers and speakers of the CLP-775, or even play along. You can also wirelessly connect to the instrument using the Yamaha Smart Pianist's app.

CLP 775 Touch Sensor Control Panel

A touch sensor control panel that only displays when on, leaving a smooth black finish, similar to a key block when off, completes the look.

3-Way Speakers & Transducers

The CLP-775 is the first in the range to include a transducer as part of the sound system. Featuring a speaker box with carefully placed individual speakers for treble, mid and bass, there are also transducers that help simulate the natural sound field akin to the resonance created from a grand piano soundboard.
