We are located in Tunbridge Wells, Kent, and at New Haw, Surrey and provide a retail and web shopping experience. Our product range caters to developing musicians of all ages.  We supply Instruments, accessories and sheet music as well as a rental scheme, a music school (from our Tunbridge Wells location) as well as a repairs service.

Piano Sales Manager - Tunbridge Wells, Kent.

We are very excited to be expanding our Piano department and are looking for a Sales Manager to actively build and grow this area of our business.  We are also looking to grow the profile of our strings collection, which is extensive, so if you have any Bowed Strings knowledge, that would also be extremely useful!  Whether you have just piano knowledge, or both, we would really like to talk to you.

The Role:

The role requires an ambitious individual who is keen to drive results in a specialised industry.  Reporting to the Managing Director, the Sales Manager will develop and implement sales and marketing strategies both locally and online.  The Sales Manager will also work to develop leads and build relationships with existing customers.

Key Responsibilities:

The development and implementation of a piano sales plan, to incorporate re-connecting with existing customers and broadening the sales offering and bringing in new customers.

  • Develop sales drives, instore activities, involvement with local music events and online campaigns to promote sales.
  • Work to achieving agreed sales targets, both instore, online and within specific instrument ranges.
  • provide a friendly and efficient service to all types of sales enquiries and requests and to maximise all sales opportunities across all areas of the retail business.
  • To have excellent product knowledge of our piano range  and the piano market generally (and Bowed Strings Range, or any other instrument) and an appetite for knowledge in the same.
  • Contribute to Social Media blogs, posts, videos and online activity - including the website.
  • Encourage enticing shop displays and devise measures to evaluate their effectiveness.
  • Share product and sales knowledge with colleagues regularly
  • Manage stock to reflect online and retail market activity
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with the team, suppliers, local network and customers
  • Monitor both Web and Retail competition

Experience

  • Proven ability in sales techniques and skills
  • Proven knowledge of pianos (any), digital pianos (Yamaha) keyboards.
  • Experience in music retail both online and instore.
  • Experience of building and implementing sales and marketing campaigns
  • Awareness of the importance of Brand and Culture Change
  •            

Additional

In addition, we are looking for the ability to work a flexible schedule to meet the needs of the business which will require some weekend shifts and travel to other locations as required.  The successful candidate will also have excellent written and verbal skills, great interpersonal style coupled with a passion for selling and for music

Store Manager - Tunbridge Wells, Kent.

Brittens is changing - and needs a new Flexible Store Manager to take the journey with us.

Can you sell, lead, organise, play, change, create and write?  We need a manager who can adapt to our changing business, and successfully lead and motivate the team through the journey.

We are very excited to be expanding our piano, strings and guitar departments as well as developing our online presence with our sheet music and instrument bundles and are looking for a Store Manager who has Sales/Instrument/Retail/Web experience who can help steer us through these changes.

The Role:

The role requires a multi skilled individual who can lend their abilities to a multitude of activities! 

Reporting to the Managing Director, the Store Manager will manage Sales and will lead the Tunbridge Wells Team.  The role will also include the development and implementation of sales and marketing strategies for the growth of our Piano, Violin and Guitar departments.  These plans will encompass both instore and online activities and include online marketing. The Store Manager will also work to develop new Customers as well as building the relationships with existing customers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and motivate the staff, building a team spirit focussed on commercial objectives.
  • Develop strategies to build our customer base - both locally, and nationally via our online presence. 
  • Develop sales drives, instore activities, involvement with local music events and online campaigns to promote sales.
  • Work to achieving agreed sales targets, both instore, online and within specific instrument and product ranges.
  • Provide a friendly and efficient service to all customers instore
  • Play an active role in developing and implementing a sales maximising strategy.
  • To have a broad product knowledge of the piano/digital piano range, Strings, Woodwind, Brass and an appetite for knowledge in the same.
  • Contribute to our Social Media blogs, posts, videos and online activity
  • Monitor Website and online channels for effectiveness, price, promotion and improvements.
  • Play an active part in redesigning shop displays and evaluate their effectiveness.
  • Implement Staff Training on product and sales knowledge
  • Manage stock to reflect online and retail market activity
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with the team, suppliers, local network and customers
  • Monitor both Web and Retail competition
  • Ensuring financial targets are met in a timely manner.

Experience

  • Proven ability in sales techniques and skills
  • Proven ability to lead and motivate people.

  • Experience of man management in a retail environment
  • Experience of building and implementing sales and marketing campaigns
  • Experience of online marketing including Google Ads / Analytics / Tag Manager
